5 Awesome Curated Resources for Financial Wellness

Financial independence is crucial for women as it empowers you to make informed decisions, shape their destinies, and achieve their life goals. Taking control of one's finances provides a sense of autonomy and security, allowing women to navigate life's uncertainties with confidence.

Studies consistently show that financial stress can adversely affect mental and physical well-being. Women who take control of their financial lives often experience reduced stress levels, leading to improved overall health. Chronic financial strain has been linked to conditions like high blood pressure, insomnia, and even cardiovascular diseases.

Financial stability enables women to access better healthcare, nutritious food, and engage in stress-relieving activities. By prioritizing financial health, women can break the cycle of stress-related health issues, fostering a holistic well-being that positively influences both their present and future physical health.

So how’s it going? Well, not great

A survey by GoBankingRates about the financial health of women last year was a good new/bad news update. While they found that women have lower rates of debt, 57% of them aren’t investing.

In 2022 Ellevest, a financial and wealth management platform designed specifically for women, launched their Women’s Financial Health Index. It takes into account factors such as the pay gap, access to paid family leave, representation in Congress and as CEOs in the Fortune 500 as well as economic factors such as consumer confidence and inflation. On a scale of 1 to 10, they determine a rating for the current time period. As of May of 2023, it was a 3.5. Ouch. .
